Old Synagogue Erfurt

From the range of few preserved Jewish ritual buildings from the Middle Ages, the Old Synagogue stands out as one of the largest and best preserved prayer rooms in Central Europe.

Mauerreste der mittelalterlichen, jüdischen Mikwe. Reste eines kleinen Raumes mit Tonnengewölbe, umgeben von Ausschnitten des bronzefarbenen Schutzbaus.

Medieval Mikveh Erfurt

The mikveh, excavated between 2007-10 in the immediate historic city centre, belongs to the range of early medieval Jewish ritual baths in Europe.

In a complex of buildings on Benediktsplatz 1 in the historic city centre, a medieval stone building is located. Exceptionally numerous essential structures from its time of construction around 1250 have been preserved.
